The public was invited to weigh in on the design of a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge near Lady Bird Lake

The City of Austin is asking the public to weigh in on the designs for the all-new bicycle and pedestrian bridge on the eastern edge of Lady Bird Lake.

Austin Public Works New Longhorn Dam Bridge Virtual Open House 30% Design, launched on Thursday. It reveals updated plans for the overall design and amenities of the new bridge. The open day focuses on three key areas of the project: the bridge and its plaza, a new underpass under Pleasant Valley Road and improvements to the park near Canterbury Street.

The open day is available in English and Spanish 24 hours a day, seven days a week March 24, 2022. Investigations in English and Spanish the inviting comments on the updated bridge design are included as part of the online open house.

Public art is another new feature of the Longhorn Dam New Bridge project. from Austin Art in public places program (AIPP) will collect community input on a site-specific art vision for the project at a virtual public meeting to Wednesday March 9 at 5:30 p.m.. Meeting attendees will help define the inspiration and goals for the artworks that will inform the artist selection process.
