SEATTLE, WA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, July 11, 2022 / — The iconic Space Needle is partnering with Seattle-based local designer Luly Yang Design Group for new uniforms for members of the ‘crew. Working to innovate the uniform industry towards elevating style, performance and pride, Luly Yang brings her experience in design, architecture and her understanding of the human form, creating a collection of One of a kind Space Needle uniforms.

“We are thrilled to bring Luly Yang’s beautiful and innovative designs to the Space Needle,” said Karen Olson, Director of Marketing. “The shapes and colors of the uniforms have been perfectly thought out to represent the iconic Space Needle reimagined in a uniform. The Luly Yang brand defends our values: innovation, engineering and sustainability.

The design of the Space Needle uniform was inspired by the building’s iconic silhouette shape. The garment’s seams, color blocking, textures and reflective trims have been designed to reflect architectural lines while flattering the human body. The Space Needle brand was referenced for colors and logos, which were custom created for the collection, as well as important functional requirements for the various frontline team members.

Seattle-based architecture firm Olson Kundig has received the American Institute of Architect’s 2022 National Architecture Honor Award for its work on the Space Needle’s $100 million Century project, which served as inspiration for custom printing, creating a sporty texture that adds dimension to garments.

“The Space Needle is a world-famous architectural landmark, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to create the new custom uniform program for its team,” said Luly Yang, Creative Director of Luly Yang Design. Group. “It’s a dream come true to bring the recognizable beautiful design details of the building into the garments themselves.”
