Google Cloud announced the appointment of Bader Almadi as country manager for Saudi Arabia.

Based in Riyadh, Almadi is responsible for leading Google Cloud’s strategy across the Kingdom. His professional mandate covers growing the Google Cloud team in the country and supporting the growth and evolution of customers in a variety of industries spanning retail, healthcare, financial services, entertainment and many others. Almadi will also focus on scaling Google Cloud’s partner ecosystem in the Kingdom.

Almadi brings 16 years of leadership and expertise in information technology and technology sales to this position. He joins Google Cloud from Dell Technologies, where he was national business director for the telecommunications, cloud and financial services sectors, leading relationships with Saudi conglomerates such as stc, Zain and Mobily, and customers of the banking and cloud service providers.

Prior to his eight years at Dell in the Kingdom, Almadi started his career in 2006 at Cisco as a Service Account Manager. He joined Oracle in 2009, where for the next four years he focused on managing clients in the financial services industry. In 2012, he joined EMC, where he assumed the role of Education Sector Manager, leading sales efforts with educational institutions in the Kingdom.

In 2017, Almadi worked with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology as the Minister’s Advisor on International Partnerships. He has led several partnership initiatives that have strengthened the Kingdom’s presence on the international stage with technology companies, non-governmental organizations and non-profit organizations. Almadi led important initiatives throughout this role, such as the Kingdom’s participation in the World Economic Forum. He was also the Saudi representative of the digital economy working group at the G20 summit.
